Changelog
What's new in Recall.
Every release, in plain language. Recall ships often while it's in beta.
NewType and Speed study modes now use the same card-flip animation as Classic mode, respecting your Card flip style setting. Classic-mode Code cards also now flip with a real animation for the first time.
NewSpeed mode's rating buttons now use the same Again/Hard/Good/Easy row as Classic mode, including FSRS interval hints.
NewSpeed mode's timer duration is now set with a stepper (1 second to 9:59) instead of a slider.
NewSign-up now shows a link to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
NewThe Stats screen now shows a "Cards mastered" count alongside Accuracy, instead of showing Accuracy twice.
ImprovedThe Stats screen now shows its full layout even before you've studied anything, instead of a bare "no stats yet" message.
ImprovedA card's "Ease" stat is now "Difficulty," and the weak-card filter now uses FSRS difficulty instead of ease, which no longer changes under FSRS-6.
ImprovedOnboarding now only shows once for new accounts, instead of reappearing any time your deck count reaches zero.
ImprovedNew decks (created by hand, via Recall AI, or imported from Anki or CSV/TSV) now default to a consistent icon and color. Importing a .recall file still preserves that deck's own saved icon and color.
ImprovedNumeric steppers (Speed timer, Recall AI card count, and Settings' session size limit and new cards per day) can now be cleared and retyped directly, instead of requiring you to delete a leading digit first.
ImprovedThe Dashboard's "no decks yet" state now still shows your normal stats and Due today, instead of replacing the whole page with a single panel.
ImprovedType and Speed cards now match Classic's size, background, corner radius, and font weight. Type mode's answer input sits below the card at the same width, the study progress bar is centered above the mode switcher, the rating row lines up with the card at every window size, and the edit button is always visible like the flag button.
ImprovedConsistent colors and contrast throughout: icon colors, Again/Hard/Good/Easy button tints (including the Good button's hover), Speed mode's countdown red, the color-picker ring, and higher-contrast Classic/Type/Speed and range-selector pills in light and dark mode.
ImprovedConsistent borders and frosted-glass styling across dropdowns, toasts, and modals, polished icons and spacing in onboarding, and Recall's logo and color palette in the Windows and Mac installers.
FixedFixed Type mode's answer feedback disappearing after 1.1 seconds instead of waiting for you to continue, and showing no answer text on a correct answer.
FixedFixed a rating inconsistency where a correct typed answer scored higher (Easy) than an equivalent correct multiple-choice pick (Good).
FixedFixed a bug where newly created decks didn't appear on the Decks screen until navigating away and back.
FixedFixed deck edits (name, icon, subject, description) not appearing on the Decks screen until you navigated away and back.
FixedFixed flagging a card not always saving reliably.
FixedFixed cloze cards showing a raw "c1::" prefix instead of a blank on the front, and instead of the answer on the back. Also fixed Type mode incorrectly grading a correctly typed cloze answer as wrong because of this same prefix, and cloze cards with more than one blank now grade correctly regardless of answer order.
FixedFixed the TSV export icon incorrectly showing a "CSV" label instead of "TSV".
FixedFixed the session Time stat showing an inflated, incorrect duration after resuming a session that had been left unfinished for a while.
FixedFixed the Dashboard's "Due today" section going blank instead of showing a caught-up message when a deck has no cards due.
FixedFixed the main content panel sitting off-center on every screen, with noticeably more left padding than right.
FixedMinor wording and layout fixes: "Regenerate" now reads "New Generation" after a generation completes, leftover "FSRS-6 scheduled" text is gone from the Dashboard, and the Decks screen's filter box and buttons no longer overflow at narrower window widths.
FixedStudy setup now shows the same card count and time as the session it builds, and new cards rated Again no longer slip past the daily limit.
FixedUndo now fully restores a card, so rating it again gives the right interval.
RemovedRemoved the SM-2 scheduling algorithm entirely. FSRS-6 is now the only scheduling algorithm, and existing SM-2-scheduled cards are converted to FSRS automatically. If you had SM-2 selected in Settings, your account now uses FSRS-6.
RemovedRemoved the redundant "Email" row from Profile's Account section. Your email is already shown under your name and on the Sign out row.
